Parenting will forever be hard work, but it is also the most rewarding of relationships. To think that God entrusts young lives to imperfect people is amazing. We all know we don’t always get it right but we can try our best. Being relatable and approachable are important qualities in parenting. Are you relatable? Can your child come to you with a bad report card or after messing up and not be yelled at? That’s the idea we’re after. If not, what can be done to become more Christ-like in your parenting? Parents, you are the most influential factor in your child’s life. Children form an idea of what their Heavenly Father is like by experiencing how their earthly dads (and moms) act towards them. They should not fear talking with parents. Home is supposed to be the safest place on earth. If that hasn’t been the story at your house, it can be. Seek forgiveness and take a parenting class or read a book on positive parenting. Let’s make it a goal to do our best to listen well, become angry less, love more, and create a safe emotional climate for our boys and girls to grow up in. A parent who relates well, will reap rewards far into the future.

1 John 1:3a NIV See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!
