Psalms 107:1NIV  Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.

Remember, child of God, you are loved even when you don’t think you are. God says so! His truth is greater than man’s. In response, live lives of thankfulness. All of us have so much to be thankful for: food, clean water to drink, sunshine and rain, pets, a word of encouragement … the list will astound you. Allow your children and friends to witness thankfulness in your life. Let them know how thankful you are to have them in your life. Actions are worth a 1,000,000 words. Take the challenge: As a family, or for yourself, write one blessing a day for the rest of the year. Read these aloud once a week at the dinner table.

Live Out Thankfulness in Many Ways

There are lots of ways to live out thankfulness in our lives. At the top of the list would be to allow our faces show thankful hearts. When was the last time you smiled just because you were thankful? Nothing big happened to prompt those feelings. They just came over you and life felt good. You recognized God’s goodness at the core of your being.

Be An Example

Thanksgiving month is a great time of year to share yourself and your bounty with others. There is no better way to train children than by example. Stop by a community food bank and volunteer a few hours. Take along a bag of canned or boxed foods to contribute to those who are in need. Allow ample time to listen to a stranger who might be feeling all alone in the world. Thankful hearts touch others. Thankful people reach out in ways that demonstrate God’s love and cause people to feel safe enough to trust someone cares.
